Oceanic Microplastic-Free Sea Salt

Time, they say, changes everything. Prehistoric seismic movements changed the course of the mighty rivers that once flowed from inland salt pans down towards the coast.

As these rivers slowly evaporated, they left behind deposits of pure salt, right by the sea. These deposits were laid down before humans walked the earth – and before humanity, there was no pollution. These ancient salt deposits have remained free of microplastics and other contaminants, making Oceanic Sea Salt one of the purest salts there is. Countless millennia have passed, and yet it has retained its natural flavour.

Our brand name - OCEANIC SALT - refers not only to the origins of our salt, but speaks to the power, purity and energy of nature. We’re on a mission to let people know that microplastics are not only bad for wildlife, but potentially bad for human health, too. People have become more interested in the origins of their food; we’re here to tell them that purity is also vital.

Oceanic Sea Salt ticks all these boxes – it has health-giving properties, it’s pure, it’s a wonderful flavour enhancer and it’s free from microplastics. The source material of our Oceanic Sea Salt contains no microplastics larger than 25 micrometres as tested and verified by an accredited international independent laboratory specialising in microplastics research. That’s the kind of purity that can only be achieved over millions of years.

Better still, in keeping with our sustainable philosophy, our packaging material makes use of recycled materials.

Oceanic Microplastic-Free Kalahari Salt

The arid regions of South Africa’s Northern Cape were once the bed of an immense inland sea. Deposits of pure natural salt were left behind, far from any human settlement and therefore untouched by pollution.

This is salt with a story to tell – a salt as ancient as time itself, and as pure as the desert air. With its flavour locked in by the rays of the African sun, each grain of Oceanic Kalahari Salt will add a subtle yet unmistakable intensity to every dish you cook or eat. That’s why we’ve gone to the ends of the Earth to source salt that promises flavours and health-giving properties that are out of this world.

The source material of our Oceanic Kalahari Salt contains no microplastics larger than 25 micrometres as tested and verified by an accredited international independent laboratory specialising in microplastics research. That’s the kind of purity that can only be achieved over millions of years.

Better still, in keeping with our sustainable philosophy, we only use packaging that contains recycled materials.

Oceanic Tellicherry Cracked Black Pepper

Complementing our Oceanic Salt, and aligned with the superior quality of all SRP offerings, Oceanic Cracked Black Pepper takes the lead when it comes to quality and authentic flavour. Although most of the world’s black peppercorn is sourced from Vietnam, our Oceanic Pepper, from the Piper nigrum species, is grown on the Malabar Coast in southern India, at the very heart of the world’s spice trade.

The Tellicherry peppercorn designation refers to the size and weight of the corns. Any peppercorn larger than 4.25 mm is regarded as a Tellicherry peppercorn, regardless of where it comes from. Because Tellicherry peppercorns are naturally larger than average peppercorns and make up a smaller percentage of any pepper crop, they command a higher market price.

As peppercorns grow larger, they lose a little heat – but gain in terms of aroma. The bigger the peppercorn, the more fragrant they are. Tellicherry peppercorns have strong lime, lemon and orange notes, followed immediately by sweet aromas ranging from fruity to grassy to citrus and pine – the key components of our bright, distinctive Oceanic flavour.

OCEANIC multi-pack includes our Sea Salt, Kalahari Salt, and Tellicherry pepper, offering you a spread of our product range with 3 containers of each product. Oceanic Sea salt and Oceanic Kalahari Salt are both entirely free of microplastics and other contaminants.

OCEANIC Tellicherry Pepper is grown in the world’s ‘heart of spices’, the southern regions of India, specifically the Malabar Coast, where the corns are left on the vine to grow larger and to ripen to a more robust and complex flavour. Tellicherry Black pepper originates from the dried, unripe berry of the Piper nigrum species which carries more aroma and fragrance, with strong notes of lime, lemon and orange, followed immediately by sweet aromas, from fruity to grassy to citrus and pine.
